Krishnashtami was celebrated with gaiety which began with lighting of ceremonial lamp followed by a bhajan beautifully presented under fusion genre. The story of Lord Krishna’s harnessing Kaliya- the huge serpent who poisoned the waters of river Yamuna- was gracefully presented by students of class II to V. While Soyogi Patel, the student of class XI, narrated core significance of Janmashtmi, students of secondary section came out with marvelous dance performance.
Matkiphod competition remains the most awaited event of the day and students of all the four houses participated in the event creating a riot by breaking the matki as early as possible. The students of Rani Laxmibai House came out first in the both- Matkiphod and Matki Decoration competitions. While the day was marked with fun and frolic, the celebration brought awareness among the children about traditional customs en-rooting them to invaluable Indian culture.
