Inter house Yoga Competition

The most important pieces of equipment for doing yoga are our body and mind. This is what the students of Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir exhibited on evening of June 23, 2017. With a focus on the importance of a robust body and an active lifestyle, the school organised an inter-house Yoga competition for the students of Class I to XII. Miss Janki Bhoya and Miss Dharmishtha Tadvi, the sports instructors of the school, adjudged the event. It was a great delight to see the participants perform various Asanas such as Chakraasan, Bakasan, Dhanuasan, Pashimohotasan, Ardhchandrasan, Tadasan, Halasana, Bhujangasan, Trikonasan, Gomukhasan, and many more with much agility. A team of two students from all the four houses from each class put their best to display their potential for yoga. In the final position of each asana, each participant had to hold their position for 30 seconds. While the first position was bagged by Kalpana Chawala House while Sharda Devi House stood second.

Inter house Spelling Bee Competition

Spelling is important because it aids in reading. It helps cementing the connection that is shared between sounds and letters. And hence, a Spelling Bee Competition was organized on 16^th June, 2017 in the school for classes I to XII. This competition was one out of the numerous enjoyable competitions that give students a platform to learn spellings in different ways. Such competition help students improve their spellings, increase their vocabulary, learn concepts, and develop use of correct English. Children participated earnestly in the three rounds of competition. Interestingly enough, tie breaker round needed in most classes to finalize the winners. The results are as given below:

Visit to Divine place Haridham

Who would not feel heavenly bliss when face to face with P.P. Swamiji at divine place of Haridham? Of course it had been a great opportunity for all the teachers and other members of Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir and Atmiya Vidya Mandir as P.P. Swamiji kindly invited them and offered blessings with spiritual discourse. SVM teachers also got wonderful moments of sharing with the teachers of AVM. Incidentally, cake-cutting ceremony took place celebrating P. Mama’s birthday. The visit formed its significance for the teachers as they cherished in their heart the advice of P.P. Swamiji to work collaboratively for the progress and spiritual betterment of the students at their care.

Lord Ram and Lord SwaminarayanPragatya Celebrations

It is said that one who reverences Shree Rama and Lord Swaminarayan with faith and devotion, becomes large-hearted and pure in spirit. To proclaim the birth of Lord Rama and Lord Swaminarayan, the glorious Celebration was held in the prayer hall. Students sang devotional bhajans and performed dances in the praise of Lord. The video presentation on the life of Lord Swaminarayan, very mystically touched the hearts of all. Students treasured the vibrant essence of this Hindu Festivals.
