Ganeshotsav Celebration

Lord Ganesha marks his special significance in Hindu culture and celebrations. The deity with numerous names is worshiped across the nation and when it comes to Ganesh Chaturthi, cities, towns and villages go crazy in celebrations called ‘Ganges Mahotsav’. Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir was not an exception to it  and joyous celebrations extended to five days. On the first day, that is, on the day of Ganges Chaturthi, the idol of Lord Ganesha was  installed in the assembly hall of the school amidst students’ calling out slogans in praise of Lord Ganesha.  Auspicious and divine environment kept evolving  whenever aarti was performed in the evenings.
On September 23, the fifth day after the installation,  the idol of Lord Ganesha was taken out in great procession for immersion.  After performing puja and aarti, the teachers carried the idol to Narmada Ghat of Nilkantheswar Temple, followed by all the students of the school who liberate their vocal cords shouting ‘Ganpati Bapa Moriya’ requesting the lord to come soon the next year. The five days celebration fetched a happy change in school routine and, at the same time, drew the students nearer to indian traditions and customs.
