A Workshop on ‘’Teaching Concept verses Content’

‘’Teaching Concept verses Content” was the key point of talk for the resource person Dr. A.K. Sinha, Principal DPS Vadodara. The workshop for the teachers of Sarvanaman Vidya Mandir and Atmiya Vidya Mandir was held in Assembly Hall on Saturday, 10th August, 2013 between 04:15 pm.  to 07:15 pm.
The workshop was split into two sessions.
In the very first session Dr. A.K. Sinha discussed the role of a teacher in the field of education. He embarked on with a clear cut difference between education and literacy. He continued saying that it is teachers’ desire and commitment not the will that can change and develop the child entirely. He very convincingly clarified that each and every child can do it however teachers just need find that out.
‘Concept verses Content’ was the principle point of dealing in the second session of Dr. A.K. Sinha where he insisted to teach various concepts of the subject than mere content. The teaching of concepts would surely take the students into transformation from not successful to partially successful and to fully successful at the last stage, he put in addition.
Finally an interactive session had taken the place where teachers threw numerous questions regarding teaching and building up the children. From the flow of speech, quoted with some very lively examples, the vast experience of his research in education was observed undoubtedly.
Thus, the workshop was concluded very effectively as it made the teachers fully clear and correct in their line of work.
